The Ramshorn Peak always a presence above Dubois and always brilliantly displaying itself in many moods
I  spent a few hours early in the morning celebrating my Birthday in the Glacier Trailhead area catching the light and the cascades of Torrey Creek as it thunders out of the canyon wall onto the meadows below.

The peaks rising above the DuNoir valley are awash in a surreal mists of the June morning.

At 50 feet in the air and far out on the flimsiest of limbs this little guy is right at home.  Mom down below showed no concern and continued her feast of forest salad.
What a show these two youngsters put on.  Climbing and sliding back down tis Lodgepole tree with such uncanny ability and confidence.  It was first a game of tag then how high can you go.  I can go higher.
When I first saw her she was in an open Lodgepole Pine forest eating away at the plant and grass growth there.  Suddenly two cubs appeared running and jumping through the tall grass completely buried in the vegetation then reappearing as they leapt onto a log.  Cumbersome in their motions yet so dexterously bounding up onto the trunk of a Pine.
